NSF/ANSI 42 gilt für Trinkwasseraufbereitungssysteme, die zur Reduzierung ästhetischer, nicht gesundheitsbezogener Verunreinigungen zertifiziert sind. Dazu können Chlor­geschmack und -geruch, unangenehme Gerüche sowie weitere Faktoren gehören, die Geschmack, Geruch oder Aussehen des Wassers beeinträchtigen.

Ein nach NSF/ANSI 42 zertifiziertes Produkt wird in der Regel gewählt, um die alltägliche Trinkwasserqualität und das Geschmackserlebnis zu verbessern. Dieser Standard bestätigt jedoch nicht die Reduzierung gesundheitsrelevanter Schadstoffe wie Blei, Arsen oder PFAS, sofern entsprechende Angaben nicht zusätzlich nach einem anderen einschlägigen Standard zertifiziert wurden.

Does this filter come with a faucet?

Yes, this system come with an extra dedicated faucet with brushed nickel finish.

How to hook this up to my icemaker?

This system can be connected with your refrigerator ice maker, please order the IMC-1 ice maker installation kit together.

is it bpa free?

yes! it's BPA free.

Do I have to run water for 10 minutes after installation?

The SP99 New water filter system is recommended to flush for 10 minutes before drinking.

Can this remove TDS?

TDS is not a professional way to test the water quality, TDS means total dissolved solids, for example if you put a very little salt(NaCl) into the water and test the TDS, and you will find the result is dramatically high. Same thing, if your water is full of minerals, the TDS is very high too.

The SP99 water filter doesn’t remove any of the minerals from water, it only stops heavy metals such as Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, and it removes greatly the VOCs, chlorine from water.

TDS meter testing method is widely used in reverse osmosis system, if a RO membrane doesn’t have a good performance, the TDS is relatively higher. And if TDS is getting much higher, means it’s time to change the RO membrane.

So please do not use TDS to test any water except Reverse Osmosis System, because the result is meaningless.
