Do I need to run the water for 10 minutes after installation?

Hello, thank you for your inquiry! TDS is not a professional method for measuring water quality. TDS stands for total dissolved solids. For example, if you add a small amount of salt (NaCl) to the water and measure the TDS level, you will notice that the result is significantly too high. The same applies if your water is rich in minerals. Here, too, the TDS level will be very high.
The SP99 water filter does not remove minerals from the water, it only retains heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium and largely removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chlorine from the water.
The TDS measurement method is commonly used in reverse osmosis systems. If an RO membrane isn't performing well, the TDS level will be relatively high. If the TDS level rises significantly, it's time to replace the RO membrane.
Therefore, please do not use TDS to test water other than the reverse osmosis system, as the result is meaningless.
